Indian pianist Utsav Lal has been making waves in the global music circuit as a man of promising ventures for over a decade now. Popularly dubbed the Raga Pianist, what sets him apart from the rest of the world’s pianists is his constant endeavour to make the piano an Indian instrument, by infusing ragas and Indian compositions on the Western instrument. Young Steinway Artist, UTSAV LAL is an Indian pianist, improviser, educator and composer. Utsav Lal has performed all over the world, including leading venues like Carnegie Hall-NYC, South Bank Centre-London, Kennedy Center-Washington DC, Steinway Hall-New York, Arts Center-Melbourne, Konset Huset-Sweden, Tagore Centre-Berlin, Asia Society-Hong Kong and others. Treading the line between an ancient musical tradition and an innate desire for innovation with utmost respect , Lal's music is acclaimed for its powerful intensity that sweeps the audience into a transcendental journey. Debut album ‘Piano Moods of Indian Ragas” Times Music (2008), Lal has 5 subsequent records ( Ragas Dance off Piano Keys, Ragas Al Pianoforte, Ragas to Reels, Indian Classical Music on the Piano) and a historic solo album -The Fluid Piano Album on the world’s first ever 'Fluid Piano’, released by Fluid Piano Tuning label (2016).
